It looks the year 2023 is the return of the old riddims in dancehall which has of late been on the decline. Nicki Minaj this year released 'ruby da squeeze' which samples the famous Lenky Diwali riddim and a bit of vocals of lumidee's hit song Oh Oh .
The internet was also buzzing this whole year with the remix of the 1997 Busta Rhymes 'put your hands where my eyes can ' instrument with Nadg hit song 'we a run di grung which had so many artists vibing to the challenges ,and next on line is the chart topping 2001 Buzz Riddim which had the global breakthrough song for Sean Paul 'gimme di light' and other hits from Beenie man ,Elephant man ,Sizzla and Mad Cobra whose track 'press trigger ' also got a remake and appeared on Fifa 23 ,the new buzz wave has got remixes of songs by Valiant's song 'bounce check' ,Vybz Kartel ,and a new track by Hood celebrity aka Trina ft Bounty Killa and I can say we should be expecting more tunes on this riddim.
